Kerry is doing a great thing in the Middle East now. As is Bill Nelson and others. Kerry is showing the world that the democrats do not stand with Bush's psychotic foreign policies, and that our country can be trusted to be sane (though tough) in the future.

I really object to anyone calling what Kerry is doing "grandstanding". He is not only a top foreign policy leader in the senate, but he's still the titular head of the democratic party as the White House pointed out. He is known all over the world and highly respected along with Clinton, Gore and Carter. Gore is focused on global warming, Kerry is focusing on Iraq and the Middle East, including the effects big oil has.

McCain is also in Iraq calling for more troops and an expanded war and occupation. IMHO, McCain is wrong and the American people will come to realize that, if they don't already. The correct way to get us out of Iraq is by putting a stop to the tensions boiling up around the entire area, including defusing the hostilities with Iran and Syria. Iran is particular has to be handled. Whether we like it or not Bush has made them a lot more powerful, and that whole direction needs to be changed 180 degrees. Remember, after 9-11 Iran was actually quite supportive of the US. We need to get back to that kind of sensible situation. Kerry is contributing to that.
