Edwards just announced he's running. I don't think Bayh was looking at Obama, I think he was looking at the fact that so far he's probably gotten no one excited. Bayh is a nice looking guy but he's bland, so nobody paid attention. The only thing he had going for him was money in the bank and maybe taking Indiana, which btw is major. Bayh just lacked fire in the belly. That's what it takes to stay in, real driving ambition and passion. I don't think Edwards has much of a chance but he does has passion. In the end, this is going to be "will Gore run?" not "will Obama run?" Gore is the only guy who really has peoples' confidence, only because he's had four more years than Kerry to be completely forgiven for letting Bush rip him off. if Gore doesn't run then we have have a Kerry vs. Edwards vs. Hillary and/or Obama race, though I suspect both Obama and Hillary are having second thoughts about running. Could even end up exactly like 2004, except hopefully a different outcome in the end. Kerry-Edwards was actually a pretty damn good ticket.
