The November Effect [WSJ]

Message 23045065

---

The November effect is similar to the January effect.

One reason for the November effect is that many mutual funds close their fiscal years on Oct. 31.

Because it is based on funds, it affects large stocks more than small ones - the example used is the thousand largest public companies in America.

I agree that the January effect is increasingly known and "front-run," so that Christmas is a rather late date to buy.
