I don't doubt that a lot of food is wasted in the US but around a ton per day per person needs an explanation. I don't think that most of it comes from the consumer. Grocery stores throw out a lot of produce, damaged items. Restaurants/food services. Farms. Like all estimates. You can google and everyone has a different estimate. jttmab
