Blaine MN BEST BUY channel check. They have parallel Zips and 10 packs of disks at the $99 price using the rebates, but they are not heavily advertized inside the store at the $99 rebate price. The salesman said that the bin, currently full, with four large signs advertizing the disks and not the drives, will be gone in a few days. "Hard to keep the product on the shelves"
Never the less the sales man tried to convince me of the merits of the LS-120 over the ZIP and in fact indicated that the LS-120 was faster, and tried to put down the ZIP. He told me he had sold six LS-120's and many ZIPS but he was still pushing the LS-120. One reason is he gave was "it was developed by 3M, a MN company"
Since some of the information stated by the salesman was bias I left the store (with 10 FUJI label disks) thinking that perhaps it was the store(or the maybe only the employee's) policy to hard sell the LS-120 and leave the ZIPs to the customer's discretion. LS-120s have been in this store for only three weeks according to this saleman.
Even with the bias salesman and improper signs on ZIP product bin the ZIP drives apparently outsell the LS-120 by a large factor since they have five LS-120s in the showcase and possibly over one hundred ZIPs on the floor bin and in the shelves.
