I agree with him that that is a strong possibility.

However I *also* believe that likely the SUREST WAY to guarantee a 'defeat' for American strategic national interests is to STAY in Iraq, doing exactly what we are currently doing.

(And, the best available option to produce a VICTORY for American long-term strategic interests is to withdraw from the middle of the inter-Islamic civil war --- and let the fundamentalists on both sides have at it....)
