In terms of timing, I see your point. A skirmish with the Thai Baht is no reason to hide under your bed. It is more like the sound of distant gunfire -- a sign that things are not as peaceful as one might hope on the currency front. How fast the situation deteriorates requires a much more fine grained analysis. On the other hand, for those not inclined to wait till the last minute, this might be a time to be underweight in all things tied to the fate of the dollar. Even as I write these words it cannot escape notice how large the shadow of dollar weakness has become. For many the dollar is everything -- there are few ways to escape.
