You think I'm dancing around your question because you aren't asking the question you really want to ask, or you aren't making the question that you think you at least implied. If you want me to make comparisons to a hypothetical situation in the US, then ask me to do so (to a limited extent I already have). If you ask me questions about terminology you will get answers about terminology. In this case accurate and relevant answers about terminology, not "dancing around the question."

And if that military force formed a government in my country, are you trying to tell me that I should (or you would) just roll over and let that happen??

1 - You write as if your questions about who is an insurgent asked this question and I didn't answer it, but your implication isn't accurate.

2 - Depends on the exact circumstances. If my country had been ruled by a brutal dictator for the past 30 years, then a stable democracy was put in place with the assistance of outside military forces I might easily "roll over and let it happen". I might even support it. Of course the specifics are important. And of course Iraq's government isn't very stable. But Iraq will only be worse off from this war if the US fails, if the US succeeds things will be both practically better and more just in Iraq. Even if you think failure is now a forgone conclusion that doesn't refute this point. If you think it was always a forgone conclusion it still wouldn't make the US intervention morally wrong (it would just mean it was foolish).
