The great thing about the dollar's value is that since we float the currency on the global markets, it is a great measure of all the variables that account for the status of this country's worth. This chart tells the whole story of Bush's inability to keep our economy strong and our country's net worth high:

You asked why I would invest in a company like Cisco, believing as I do that our country is going down the tubes sinking in debt. That's a stupid question. Cisco isn't the country. Many US corporations will do just fine even as the US sinks. Multi-national companies with broad sales bases in key industries will continue to grow. The thing about the US economy and confidence in the dollar is that if those sink, it will impact the entire globe. However, these things take years, sometimes decades to play out. This isn't an overnight thing.

I'm upset about it, because I look into the future a few decades out and I don't like what I see for this country. I know you and your generation only look out 1 year, but that's why we're in this mess. It's people like you who only care about getting yourself rich and don't give a sh!t about what you leave behind for your kids that are creating this mess. We need a nation of critical thinkers that care for this country as much as they care for themselves, if we are to turn this around.

First step is to get the Republicans out of office to teach them a lesson. Then the next time they win, they will be more humble about doing the voters' bidding. Look at that moron, Bush. Ever poll that comes out now says Americans are SICK and TIRED of the darn Iraq war. Yet Bush's response is that he's thinking about expanding the size of the armed forces and sending more troops to Iraq.

I thought I'd never say this about a Republican, but that man needs to be impeached. He's bad for this country and he stands for all the things this country was not built on.
