it's certainly possible that i am completely misunderstanding the results, as i noted in my first post

i thought the reason polyheme was preferable to saline was that polyheme can carry oxygen to the body's organs, whereas saline cannot

this would mean that in a remote location, where the person couldn't be transported to a hospital within 5 minutes to replace the saline with blood, the polyheme would help keep organs alive, whereas they would start to "die" from lack of oxygen if saline was used

that was the reason that i characterized it as "pretty good results," but as i've noted, i could easily be way off, as i have little to no knowledge of anything related to biotechnology
