Both good posts. Both subjects Sliderontheblack has been pounding the table about for a looooong, loooong time. Another reason I am here.
Hubris, Im not sure what the point of your positng my Silver buys was. I already admitted to my getting smacked around. I buy some dips and once in a while a breakout. Both of my buys of recent breakouts got me burned. But, I'm doing okay since I've been a steady buyer of Silver on cyclical lows since the 1970's. I unload in the speculative boom times and try to buy back in the out of favor times. I also use silver in my hobby- business of my retirement years. I do a little trading- not much, but a little.
I also dont think Im unique in that I enjoy the discussion about Silver and fiat currency, greedy rotten politicians and the collapse of America. That's as much a reason that I like this thread and Slider as any. From the tirades that errupt every so often against him, just solidifies the fact that he obviously pushes your hot buttons at will. Now I'm sure he was being at least party sarcastic when he said the reason he was here- was so he could keep both a pulse on the emotion of the market and a foot on its throat- but, over time it becomes incredibly obvious that he does have the pulse like almost no one else. There wouldnt be these mass eruptions of gold bugs gone mad if he didnt.
Hell, I'd pay the guy $200 a year for a newsletter, just for the entertainment value. The market commentary is just gravy.
Look at how many times thru the years the guy has by himself literally got entire communities of permabulls in an uproar.
I used to nearly pee my pants from laughing back in the yahoo days. The guy could do stand up. He's got you guys blowing arteries with your anger. Your anger and emotion really does speak volumes about the degree of speculation and emotion in this market.
But what really is the saddest commentary of all- is that there is a large group of so called traders who spend hours a day posting little 10 cent in and out trades all day? I still do not understand- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ALL ABOUT?
Who could possibly care?
You could add up every trade that every single poster made and put them all together and you couldnt equal what an old fart buy and holder- bad trader like myself makes by accident. Hubris your last 10 trades looked like they were all losers. You loaded up at the top, then bragged about how you 'stopped out' - at what now turned out to be the bottom. Now your buying on a rally again?
It seems rather clear to me (and probably everyone else) that buying the rallys and getting stopped out on the pullbacks has been kicking your ass. But that is the way people trade. Not new news. Hubris I spent the day reading your posts back in time. It is painfully obvious you are some kind of technical chart, day trading want-to-be- but, the reality is that you may be the only person on SI who's a worse trader than me!
Im an old fart, who cant trade for shit.

Are you man enough to come clean and admit you've been churned and burned by chasing this market too ?
I enjoy discussing politics, fiat currency, the fed, the terrorism situation in the world, the deficits, the future of America etc. That's the value that Slider adds. What value does anyone add that sold a penny stock for $3.23 last week and quote- 're-entered today at $3.17 versus my prior posted sale last week' ? WHAT THE @$#@ is that all about ?

What I really like is that when you skim down these nit wit day trading boards they all seem to get the low of the day and sell at the high of the day?
Anyway, I think I made my point.
Slider- keep pushing their buttons (and mine)- the emotion is a great market signal.
Im finally starting to- 'get it.'
