I see the Iranian Moslem sects and the Kurds in Northern Iran as tribal in nature like the Taliban in Afganistan. The tribal mentality is to kill or be killed as the solution to all their problems.....unfortunately, the only resolution to tribal conflict of this nature is "50 cal. gun barrel diplomacy" like in Afganistan until people get tired of war and dying and are prepared to try something else. If we leave Iran or Afganistan now, members of the "bad side" of humanity like Al Queda, the Taliban, local war lords, murderous thugs and criminals will prevail.
