kris, nike ran up almost $4 today prior to earnings. The stock cooled after hours a bit but it's still near all-time highs.

Nike trades mostly on futures orders. They were up a solid 7%. I don't like the stock but I watch Nike for signs of consumer spending. They are about the only consumer company that reports futures orders.

Recessions aren't kind to Nike due to their reliance on expensive shoes and clothing. This latest report shows that the consumer is still relatively strong.
