I agree with you, but tejek, you can forget impeachment. The Democrats have their eye on a bigger prize. They need to stay clear of all controversy until 2008. More than anything they need to look tough and strong militarily. Even though few people like Bush anymore, if anyone tries to impeach them, there will be a lot of mudslinging and I'd bet my eyetooth the Republicans would tell Americans that a vote to impeach Bush is a vote for Al Qaeda. So unfortunately for all of us, Bush is going to do damage for 2 more years. Then maybe we have a chance at cleaning up the mess.

On another note, I've been combing through Republicans that I might vote for in 2008. I've decided against McCain. He's too much of a party man and a loyal soldier. We need a strong and independent leader. Someone who won't tow the party line at every turn. Someone who can think clearly what's best of this country, even if it isn't best for the party. Lastly, someone who understands that the biggest issue of our day is oil independence. All other issues are tied in with that inextricably. Solve the one problem and you solve many of the other key problems we face. I'll vote for the man or woman who gives us the best chance at us getting off the oil.

People I'd consider: Guliani, Hillary, Edwards, Obama, Lieberman.

Not many Republican candidates of note to consider. I wonder if any good choices will crop up. we'll see.
