I read it carefully but I couldn't find the reference to AMD's 300 MHz K6. Are you sure it was mentioned in the same article?

Did you notice that Intel was running the chip set at 100 MHz? I think it is their new 440BX and the Pentium II is actually one of the new Deschutes devices.
