Hi Mark - Good to see you back! I've heard that cc-NUMA was originally developed as a joint effort between Convex and Cray. Is this true? The interesting thing is that we haven't seen such an offereing from HP yet.

I question HP's resolve over the long haul. They just don't seem to have the tenacity of other companies like Sun or SGI whose primary revenue source is servers. When they owned corporate computing in the early 90's, it seems like Sun ate their lunch and they didn't respond with any kind of conviction. It doesn't look like this is changing either. I know of some big HP customers that have been screaming at HP for more scalable 64-bit system and they've been slow to respond. These companies have moved or are moving to other vendors. One has to wonder if all of HP's other successful businesses have caused a false sense of security. And the latest distraction for HP is Xerox openly stating that they want to knock off HP in the printer and mopier market.

> But don't leave out HP/Convex yet..

Regards
Jeff
