Are you looking for the perfection of a picture perfect painting (balanced and pleasurable to your own eye) or are you happier with what that painting revealed from the within? Do you begin with from a vision within of something you wish to portray... or are you painting a particular scene which you enjoy? I imagine artists are much like books.
