'Flags of our Fathers' was not your typical war movie. It did not glorify war, but rather brought out some of the dehumanizing aspects, including the way government seizes on images to further it's public relations and fund-raising goals.
Eastwood is a master movie maker.
I initially was going to pass on this one because from the title, it seemed like it was going to be just a flag-waver. It was instead poignant and thought provoking.
Plus we've got a history refresher and the scenario now to go see Eastwood's next,'Letters from Iwo Jima.'
