Good point, they can probably only expect to work in their sport for something like 5 years on average (who knows?).

Nevertheless, that doesn't counter the fact that most will work for $200k per year rather than $2 million, so there is a good opportunity for cost cutting.

You're not going to argue for lowering the multi-million dollar CEO's pay, and against lowering multi-million dollar athlete's/entertainer's pay, are you? Seems a logical inconsistency.... Being a singer is a joy. Being a CEO can suck.
