OT - Any television technicians out there? I was watching my television fine yesterday, but today I turned it on and the green light flickered "on" for a second, and then it went immediately into red "standby mode". Tried this five times with the same result. The TV screen has been dark throughout. The DVD player can deliver sound through an surround speaker system, but I guess that doesn't mean much. No sound out of the TV. It's a Hitachi projection TV, about three years old. Any suggestions? Getting service here on a post-warranty product is a real bitch, plus its a big piece of equipment so moving it to a repair shop will be a bitch. Fortunately, they're all open on Xmas!
