When you read a post do you have "dev" in you url? Yes. With dev it goes to the development site. I can immediately tell because I'm not logged in to that site. Also the update of posts from one site to another might not be immediate. I don't know what that means. Without the www url it goes to the production site. With neither it forwards to the www/production site. With this post it has neither the 'dev' or the 'www' in the url, let's see what happens. Edit. as soon as I posted it the 'dev' came back in.
