Maxam’s patent pending coal fly-ash and mining process: How long has it been pending? According to the U.S. Patent Office's website, it takes an average of 22-months to obtain a new patent. Additionally, I think I remember something about Xcentia and Maxam filing for other patents. Maybe that accounts for the long period of time without a news release.
