The gun lobby and the Israel lobby are similar. A majority of Americans would like to ban hand guns. A very united minority insists on their freedom to buy and possess same. A majority of Americans would like to live in peace with the Moslem countries; etc. The politicians are afraid of the united minorities. The problem is that in both cases the majority is sleeping, not clearly aware of the situation. The politicians listen to the united minorities. Back to investment, it's hard to see a rising future for the US dollar, given the solemn commitment to slaughter in the Near East.
