It was a magnificent meal, everything turned out perfectly. I did see the comments about the vinaigrette so I changed things slightly by taking the feta and satsumas out of the salad using instead a very light locally produced blue cheese dressing. Made the delicious satsumas part of the dessert courses.

Added some lemon juice to the asparagus as I was cooking them in fairly high heat in olive oil and black pepper. Outstanding twist!

The St. Emilion was corked, but was strained and decanted without too much trouble. Although it was more than passable, it was not outstanding. A bit flat, no tannins, not much of a finish. It may haver been past its prime. However, a guest brought a 2002 Stratton Lummis cabernet which was very, very impressive. First time I had tried it.
