Friend of mine just built a 3,500 sqft house on the West Coast of Fla and while he has utilities he is totally self sufficient. Has well, septic tank, whole house generator with 500gal propane tank buried. For windows he spent 35k just for the bulletproof glass and tiles are nailed down. I think that house will go through nearly anything except a flood. jdn
