There is a world of difference between being "involved in the scheme" as I put it, and knowing that "favorable dates had been selected", as the October report stated.

If Fred went to him with options proposals Jobs would most likely have signed off without pulling up his calender to check the dates. Yes, he knew the dates but not the implications - I hope.
