Russell Industries: URANIUM IS A HOT COMMODITY

HOUSTON, TX, Dec 18, 2006 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Russell Industries, Inc. (RSDS.PK) would like to share the following information written by Nicole Adshead-Bell, PhD. and published in an Investment Research Report for Dundee Securities Corporation, November 3, 2005.
"Over the past 18 months dramatic stock price increases for many exploration, development, and mining companies working in uranium districts or on uranium deposits have attracted new investors to the sector. " Key points in the article are:

Nuclear power will be a crucial component of base load electricity generation in developed and developing nations for decades to come due to issues of energy diversification, security of supply, economic competitiveness, and environmental impact.

Secondary sources of uranium are limited and primary uranium supply must increase to close the large and widening deficit between mine production and reactor requirements.

Growing demand for fuel for the world's expanding nuclear power capability will drive uranium prices higher.

In terms of underdeveloped uranium resources, Australia is the leading county in the world, but current political policies are likely to preclude the development of new uranium mines in Australia this decade.

Conventional mining continues to supply most of the world's primary uranium but in-situ leach (ISL) will become an increasingly important method of cost effective uranium extraction.
