There are two independent statements there. There's nothing to indicate that the former is dependent upon the latter. If he had said that he wouldn't have gone to war AND also said at some other point in the interview that he didn't like falafel, you would not conclude that the second statement somehow qualified let alone superseded the second.

He said that he most likely wouldn't have done it. That statement stands unless he later contradicts it, which he doesn't, at least not in what was reported.

That's one "mistake." According to the second statement, that "mistake" was compounded by trying to justify it publicly with WMD (as opposed to some other potential justification).

(I note that the second statement could suggest that the administration was going to do what it was going to do for whatever reason and that the unfortunate justification was selected after the fact. I would think folks would be fussing about that implication, not wasting their time arguing that Ford said that only the justification, not the invasion, was the "mistake.")
