Roundabouts are great fun. The best of all was the Champs Elysee around Arc de Triomphe. Place de la Concorde was good too.

Elephant and Castle and Royal Oak have their own character. Royal Oak is more challenging in many ways than the Arc de Triomphe which was more like joining a river rather than being in an individual event like Royal Oak.

One needs to be careful in Belgium because they go the other way and a couple of times I went the wrong way around when there weren't any cars around [not to save time, just in error]

Roundabouts move much more traffic than do traffic lights. But I think if a red light was considered a stop sign or better still a give way/yield sign, then traffic lights would be better than roundabouts as those with a green light wouldn't need to slow down to check for traffic.

It's interesting that lard was ditched in favour of transfatty acids which are now being ditched in favour of sacred vegetable oils, hopefully with oxidation inhibitors and preferably with nitrogen blankets and hopefully below about 150 degrees Celsius. I think 140 degrees is plenty hot enough and that would greatly reduce oxidation, cracking, polymerisation and carcinogenicity.
