Since we are at the intersection of politics and economics, I hesitate to make this comment for fear of being again banned, but I think it does need to be said as it will definitely have an economic impact.

On the possibility that the US would leave Iraq, thereby putting the minority Sunnis at huge risk, the rumor has surfaced that the Saudis would drop the price of oil by half, thereby putting Iran in a very tight bind, should Iran fail to act moderately and restrain any ethnic cleansing of Sunnis by Shiites.

I think this is the kind of sanction which would work very well against the Iranians.
