i remember a guy i knew tell me of trip they flew kerry years ago to north vietnam i think , they sat on the runway in temps high above 100 degrees. were not allowed to leave plane and he ate their only lunch pizza. never asked for any just took it. and he was going to some luncheon. normally these guys get to stay in an air conditioned hut while on the ground but not this time they sat and sweated.. kerry came back from the meeting pissed the plane was not running and already cooled off for him. plus he didn't bring any food back. needless to say he didn't win their votes. the above is from memory so i could have confused a few items.
