You really should go up to Lynden...It simply is beautiful! Whatever that little town has done seems to be just right. It was founded by some of my ancestors in the 1860's-70's...so the Pioneers. Then in the late 1890's, the Dutch came...so today there are descendants of both groups there, as well as "newcomers"....They've managed to keep bars and taverns out of town, and do have a pretty healthy and happy group of people who live there.....They actually care about their community! Refreshing, that! Flags fly proudly....

It's just 12 miles from Bellingham, and close to Canada, and very close to skiing....

Good plan on skiing when the crowds are gone....Sounds much better to me. This sounds like "mother hen" talking, but do you have some sort of sensor that would tell people where you are if you fall and are unable to call anyone? That's the only thing I worry about when any of ours decide to go skiing or snowboarding on their own....

Edit: Check these out....Didn't know these were even available...
