"Pakistan has so many factions, and many of them definitely NOT allies of ours, that it is difficult to totally support, or to damn the entire country. I just wish we didn't have to work with them. In any way."
You would think there should be some RESPONSIBILITY, some ACCOUNTABILITY for actions.
(After 9-11, for example, we could have continued our military attacks against those who were *directly responsible* for the attack on the US... instead of letting them escape to 'safe sanctuary', in the Airlift of Evil, or into the Tribal Regions of Pakistan where the Taliban leadership --- and most likely al Qaeda leadership, too --- is provided safety even today from US action. And, the General in charge of Pakistan's ISI [their CIA, agency responsible for the Taliban] who wired $100,000 to Mohammed Atta the week before the 9-11 attacks... and who was peacefully having lunch in Langley when the attacks happened, acting up a storm... is also 'hands-off' in Pakistan today. As is their 'national hero' who sold nuclear weapons technology to North Korea and to Iran and Lybia... living the life of a millionaire today, Pakistan preventing the US from even talking to the guy....) |
