MM politicians around the world, including NZ, are out of much the same mould. So they also say simplistic slogans.

<character? That it has no effect on the outcome of a political process?>

It's pretty obvious that character usually has a lot to do with the outcomes, not just of political process but individual lives within that process.

Incidentally, the oral description of Saddam going to his death, before any pictures had been released, was as accurate as the audio description of Cassius Clay [or maybe it was Mohammed Ali] using the rope a dope. I listened to the boxing match on radio and it was "He's on the ropes. It's game over" But it was nothing whatsoever like that. Same with the "He's a broken, broken man. etc etc". The man saying that was obviously delusional.

Saddam showed real character. I wonder how King George II would have gone to the gallows if Saddam had won instead of the reverse?

Meanwhile, the carnage continues. Here's to a better 2007.
