Greetings from Virginia----

Glad you posted this. Is it tongue in cheek by Laura Ingraham. Or, are these exact words of Obama?

The following is so typical of a politician----------

"I am somebody who has not embraced gay marriage. I’ve said that it’s not something that I think this society is necessarily ready for. It strikes me that in a lot of ways for a lot of people it may intrude in how they understand marriage. But I also think that we should create civil unions for gays and lesbians that allow them to have the same basic rights as all people."

In simple English:

I don't support gay marriage "now".

Society not ready to okay gay marriage "now".

When society says okay I will vote to okay gay/lesbian marriage.

Until then, we should create "civil unions" that give you gays and lesbians the same rights as families.

If this is his belief and not a parody, he will have a hard time selling this to Virginians. Virginia voted overwhelmingly for an amendment to the Virginia Constitution to declare marriage only a union between a man and woman.
