Obviously, Saddam's "crimes" were not bad enough then to deny him support. Yet they have now become a hanging offence. Interesting indeed.


This is specious, and you know it. Heads of state are not judged like other people. Only if they lose their status due to revolution or war will their crimes be judged.

Saddam is no longer alive to be a rallying point for remaining Ba'athists, and the Iraqis know for sure that he cannot come back. That is reason enough.
