Irwin Jacobs is the Chairman of QUALCOMM Incorporated, which is an American company which invented a whole lot of mobile cyberspace technology which is powering most of the cyberphones on Earth. There are wifi cyberphones, but QUALCOMM's CDMA technology is pretty much going to take over where GSM/GPRS/EDGE give up.

If you don't know him, you probably don't know that Andrew Viterbi as Irwin's buddy for 50 years or so in developing all that stuff and before. Klein Gilhousen also invented a whole lot of that stuff. I'm sure you have heard of $ill Gates and Warren Buffett.
