I guess I'm like a lot of Colorado natives in that I don't ski. I did in high school, but it wasn't nearly as popular then as it is now. I even lived in Durango in the '60's and was a part of the brand new Purgatory Ski Resort, now called Durango Mountain (I think). I handled all the publicity and advertising for the owner... and never skied it one time. Most of my high school friends never became caught up in skiing.
