Interesting gold vs Dow graph: elliottwave.com

Scroll down for the graph. I note that they don't show the fact that gold had gone to over $800 an ounce on the back of the 1970s oil quadrupling then quadrupling again plus the detachment of the US$ from gold.

So, it looks like a bigger boom against gold than it was.

In the end, the price of gold is the cost of digging it out, plus a bit of profit.
