Hi John!
<Have you taken a look at JNY? Their market cap is less than 10 million and their Mexico property "Vianey hosts a non 43-101 compliant historical resource of 345,020 metric tonnes in all categories, grading 2.13% lead, 3.66% zinc and 269 grams of silver per tonne." >
I had a few minutes this evening to have another look at JNY. The results they posted are certainly exceptional grade, but they are selective chip samples. The problem is that it is very easy to select high grade chip samples from visible ore shoots underground, and then on a per tonne basis they appear to be phenomenal grade ore material, however the problem is that this is not very often representative of the true mineralization of a deposit.
However, I know Peter Hawley who wrote the NI43-101 technical report, and I also know Rod Blakestead, their consulting geologist. I am going to try and phone them this week, and if they are in Vancouver for the Cambridge Show I will try to meet with them, and see what they have to say about that project. The biggest problem that I can state off the bat is that it is located in Guerrero State, which is the southern end of the Sierra Madre mineral belt, and the politics of the region are a bit sketchy. There are numerous groups of armed drug smugglers and they tend to shoot people they do not want around, including geologists, so it is a little riskier to do business in that state than other parts of Mexico.
I will follow up with more info later if I learn more.
cheers!
