The average length of an NFL career is about 3 and a half seasons

I wasn't aware that NFL careers were so short. Having said that, its not the NFL salaries that I have a problem with.....its some of the other sports like baseball or b-ball. And I assure you, their careers go much longer than 3 1/2 years.
