the interstellar travel theory that i like best is the one where you load your DNA onto some kind of digital storage medium and just ship the medium. it would be a lot smaller cargo.

that still doesn't solve the problem of equipment failure or accident. a one in a million accident has a good chance of occurring over a period of two million years.
