The GOP would rather run against Hillary or Obama than any of the four top white male candidates; Gore, Kerry, Edwards and Biden in that order, so far. Warner was another one they feared. Just listen to the next GOP talking head on the next panel where they discuss possible Dem candidates. Watch who he bashes and who he praises. I watched it last week and the GOP mouthpiece praised Hillary nand Obama, mildly insulted Edwards, then slammed Kerry. You'd better believe they're afraid of Kerry making McCain's military experience a non-asset. Except for Clark, none of the other can pose as the combat vet/worthy commander in chief. I have no problem with any of the Dems on domestic issue credibility, but when it comes to commander in chief credibility, Hillary, Obama and Edwards are all weak. Gore also has credibility for being a former VP and performing well, and he is a non-combat Vietnam vet.
