Above 1423 the odds are that the next move up may be in progress... Above 1428 would confirm that. (or at least that would confirm that an immediate down is unlikely... it would be either "up", or something "complex")... On SPX the advance from 12/22 low looks a lot like an impulse.... could be the first leg up. NDX is a little trickier, it's weaker. But above the 12/29 top I would begin to wonder. edit - Yeah, as far as maps go, EW is not great... but now and then it does help... -g
