CKS Expands Its World Wide Presence; Secures Funding to Accelerate Growth ÿ 09/29/97 Business Wire (Copyright (c) 1997, Business Wire) ÿ
PITTSBURGH, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 1997--In a move calculated to enable the Company to aggressively expand its global presence while maintaining its dominant market position, CKS announced today that it has received funding from HVP, LLC. The deal, valued in excess of six million dollars, will provide CKS with the capital needed to accelerate the global expansion of its sales and marketing efforts. Initially these efforts will focus in the North American market.

In addition to receiving funding, CKS has also formed a new Board of Directors. The board, chaired by Company president Jeff Carr, has added two new members, Ofer Nemirovsky and Gregorio (Greg) Reyes. Mr. Nemirovsky is a managing director of HVP Partners, a global private equity organization that manages over $3 billion. Mr. Nemirovsky joined HVP in 1986 after receiving his master's degree from Harvard Business School. Prior to that he was in technical computer sales for Hewlett-Packard Corporation. Mr. Nemirovsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. His directorships include CKS Limited, OneWave, Inc., Paradigm Geophysical Limited, Traveling Software, Inc. and Ultimate Software Group, Inc.
Mr. Reyes currently serves as chairman of the board of Sync Research. From 1985 to 1994 Mr. Reyes was chairman and CEO of Sunward Technologies, Inc. In 1994 Sunward Technologies merged with Read-Rite Corporation. From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Reyes served as chairman and CEO of American Semiconductor Equipment Technology (ASET). Prior to this Mr. Reyes held several positions as president and vice president at major electronics companies. Mr. Reyes currently serves on the boards of C - Cube Microsystems and Diamond Multi Media, both public companies, and Go Digital, a privately held company. He also serves as the chairman of the board for Solectek Corporation. Mr. Reyes holds a Bachelor of Science from RPI and a Master of Science in engineering from Stevens Institute.
