I don't know how you've developed these attitudes: I suppose you have intimate access to one aspect of IT services etc. which I would guess is MS-centric.

Yes indeed, millions of people use them on a daily basis. Plus them into the wall, get an address, etc. and they work. Is this news to you? Microsoft's recent implementation of "networking clusters" is a clever kludge but obviously not yet ready for prime time.

What of the numerous requests in job searches for the oxymoron of "experienced java programmers"? Many companies would wet their pants to implement a useful java-based system.

I don't want to mislead you, I agree with your cautious approach to the stock. Within the realm of possible software stocks, however, this has a reasonably low price/sales even now, a product with demonstratively good revenue stream in its previous incarnation and evidently a jump on its competitors as to having a viable java product. What the future is I agree will be risky if/when stock gets back near old highs.
