My view is that all ALA is not created equal. My understanding is that you want some form r-lipoic-acid, with a time release version of that would being the most desirable. ALCar is pretty cheap so you could put this combo together yourself for less money than that product probably costs. I think the most well known studies of this combination were those done by Bruce Ames(sp?). Only in the anti-aging realm though, as far as I know. There are some knowledgeable folks on the forums over at imminst.org. You should be able to find some references over there. Chris
