"Isn't it a little disingenuous to say the Clinton scandals are irrelevant when we're about to be subjected to a national campaign for Restoration?"

Perhaps a little. Certainly I would like to see much cleaner government and greater transparency. And I have no problem with jumping on Democratic appointees that have a whiff of corruption about them. But I have a lot of problems with people who have sat on their hands the past 10 years while the Republicans ran a very open votes for hire campaign, at least one with a menu of prices for expected favors, suddenly getting religion and dragging something like this up. I don't remember jlallen commenting on Cunningham or any of the other scandals that have been coming up.

The Democrats have an opportunity to reshape government as it has been practiced for a long time. If they do it reasonably well, they can likely banish the Republicans from the national stage for a long time. But there is a peril in that. I don't like the idea of single party rule. Forget the corruption aspect, although that is a problem, but the party with that power tends to follow its own agenda instead of doing what is best for the country.
