Wanting to get rid of mosquitoes, malaria, and white pointer sharks doesn't mean I want Bambi, gold fish, sheep, cows, snapper, swordfish and seals to be exterminated too, with only humans roaming the world.
Try reading more slowly, pointing at each word, and moving your lips. That might help comprehension. Then, after each idea, stop, and see if you can put it into similar words and summarize the point to a concept. It might take time, but that should help your perception of reality.
