To All,

I just received (and read) a small (70-page) book titled, "What is Fibre Channel?". The book was written by Jan Dedek and Gary Stephens of Ancot Corporation. (That is not a typo.) Ancot makes Fibre Channel analyzers and Fibre Channel to SCSI bridges. The book is available for free from Ancot. (You need to fill out a request form online.) This book explains the technology very well, including the difference between point-to-point, arbitrated loop, and fabric topologies. It also discusses frames, latency, and other issues that we have covered here on SI. If you are an Ancor investor or are thinking of becoming one, but don't even know what Fibre Channel is, this book is for you. Mine took about a week to arrive.

Ancot's home page is at:
ancot.com

The "What Is Fibre Channel" request form is at:
ancot.com
